Since their creation in 1966 the Black Panther Party (BPP) for Self Defense has been viewed with pride and fear. In spite of their impact on public policy and their imprint on the Civil Rights Movement, this iconic organization remains shrouded in mystery. In concert with the exhibit, ‘The Black Panthers: Making Sense of History’, this conversation will explore who the Panthers were, what they did, how they did it and their impact on the modern Civil Rights Movement.
