Farmers Market – 12:00PM-5:00PM
Sample and shop from Chicago-land farmers, selling prime fresh fruits and vegetables, plants and flowers. You’ll enjoy healthy cooking demonstrations and home gardening tutorials!

Green Arts and Crafts – 2:00PM-5:00PM
Kids will love “Like Bearden”, where old magazines and newspaper clippings and other recycled materials, are used to create artistic colorful collages inspired by the style master collagist, ROMARE BEARDEN.

This special project is in conduction with the exhibit, Buried Treasures: Art in African American Museums. Which draws attention to the rich legacy of art produced by the African Americans within the collections of 30 African American Museums.

Open Forum – 3:00PM-5:00PM
As part of this dynamic event, we present, “Rejuvenating Our Communities Through a Local Food Economy”. A discussion led by permaculture and sustainable development experts, including FRED CARTER, of the Black Oaks Center for Sustainable Renewable Living, MICHAEL HOWARD of Eden Place Nature Center, and NAOMI DAVIS of Blacks in Green!
