Dust In Their Veins: A Visual Response To The Global Water Crisis - Gallery Talk with Candace Hunter

“Dust in Their Veins: A Visual Response to the Global Water Crisis,” created by Chicago visual artist Candace Hunter, is a fascinating presentation of mixed media art works that bring discussion and action to the plight of women and children who are adversely affected by the lack of rights to clean water. The lack can be due to either the global water crisis or living in conflict areas of the world.

During the “Dust in Their Veins” gallery talk, Candace Hunter will discuss the inspiration and process of creating the provocative images featured in the exhibition. These striking images are headless, legless profiles of a woman. Prior to the program, from 5:30PM-6:30PM, members of the DuSable Museum will enjoy a private reception and Meet & Greet with the artist.

Candace Hunter’s collage and mixed media work has garnered her both praise and a mixture of collectors locally and nationally. The artist hopes that “Dust in Their Veins” will not only create dialogue about the politics of water, but that it will go a step further by creating an avenue for action.
