Join us as the “Freedom’s Sisters” come to life. Acclaimed actress Cynthia Maddox and cast portray the thrilling lives of several ‘Freedom Sisters of Our Time.’ Then watch the film, “Color Me Dark” which recognizes the bravery of a young Black girl in the 1930’s who made a courageous move to Chicago during the Great Black Migration.

Children will be transformed into budding artists, as they create ‘make and take” buttons which herald the Civil Rights Movement.

Sponsored by the Ford Motor Company Fund and the Smithsonian Community Grant program, funded by MetLife Foundation.
