The “Freedom’s Sisters” exhibit spotlights the lives of 20 extraordinary women, who helped to shape much of the spirit and substance of civil rights in America.

The “Freedom’s Sisters” Focus Workshop, allows educators a unique opportunity to tour this dynamic, multi media exhibition, and learn how to use a variety of resources to make these heroine’s stories come alive in the classroom.

The workshop will highlight best practices for integrating “Freedom’s Sisters” materials into the classroom such as; how to use historical text and documents to interpret history and engage students with civil rights inspired art activities.

Attendees will also have a chance to discuss and explore additional strategies with fellow educators over light refreshments.

Educators from all disciplines and grade levels are encouraged to attend, learn and share.

The “Freedoms’ Sisters” exhibit will be on display at DuSable Museum through April 4, 2010.

DuSable Museum is open:
Tuesday—Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday, 12 p.m to 5 p.m.

DuSable Museum is closed on Mondays,
between June 1st—January 2nd
(with exception of school holidays)
