Journey of Hope - Gallery Talk and Book Signing featuring Dr. Carolyn Mazloomi

Join us for an engaging gallery talk by Dr. Carolyn Mazloomi as she expounds on the historical and artistic expressions of the quilts featured in the exhibit Journey of Hope: Quilts Inspired by President Barack Obama.

Dr. Mazloomi is among the most influential African American quilt historians and quilt artists of the 21st century. She has also written several books on African American quilts and is an authority in the field. Following her presentation, she will be signing copies of her most recent book, Journey of Hope: Quilts Inspired by President Barack Obama. This dynamic and emotive exhibit, curated by Dr. Mazloomi, is on display in The DuSable Museum of African American History, now through May 2012.
