Look How Far We’ve Come: A Lincoln & Douglass Roundtable Discussion & Book Signing
An insightful dialogue, moderated by DuSable Museum Historian, Dr. Christopher Reed, with Lerone Bennett Jr., writer, historian and author of “Forced into Glory: Abraham Lincoln’s White Dream” will examine how the Emancipation Proclamation did not actually free African American Slaves. Douglass made a significant contribution to the literary and intellectual growth from the 1850’s. This program is endorsed by the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission and will explore the life, times and leadership of the man who guided America through one of the most tumultuous periods of its history.
