From Dreams to Determination: The Legacy of Doctors Percy and Anna Julian

Exhibition currently closed
Dr. Percy Lavon Julian, a renowned scientist in the field of chemistry, and his wife Dr. Anna Johnson Julian, a social activist and change agent, hold prominent footnotes in the annuals of American history. However, such as many facets of the contributions of African Americans to history, the story of the Julian’s is largely omitted and rarely told. This exhibition, From Dreams to Determination: The Legacy of Doctors Percy and Anna Julian, intends to bring to the forefront their footnote in American history and honor the fascinating legacy of two African Americans whose lives impacted all of humanity.

Organized by DuSable Museum of African American History

From Dreams to Determination: The Legacy of Doctors Percy and Anna Julian is made possible by the Quaker Oats Foundation, The Illinois Humanities Council and Fifth Third Bank, with additional funding provided in part by the Chicago Park District, Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs CityArtsIII Program, United Airlines and Clear Channel Radio.
