Images of America: African American Voices

Exhibit Details
Opening Date: May 2, 2006
Closing Date: August 13, 2006

Visual art and basketball are seldom associated. However, in recent years National Basketball Association (NBA) players such as Bernard King, Elliot Perry and Grant Hill have developed significant collections of African American art. Former Chicago Bull, Darrel Walker and his wife have amassed a significant collection of art by nationally recognized African American artists. This nationally touring exhibition of their private collection features works by such noted artists as Romare Bearden, David Driskell, Emma Amos, Jacob Lawrence, Lois Mailou Jones and many others.
