DuSable Museum Board of Trustees Appoints New Chairman
The Board of Trustees of the DuSable Museum of African American History has announced the appointment of Clarence K. Bourne as its Chairman. Mr. Bourne, who previously served as 1st Vice Chairman, will complete the unexpired term of Attorney Cheryl Blackwell Bryson, who passed away last month.
Mr. Bourne, who has been a member of the DuSable’s Board of Trustees since 2003, is currently employed as a Managing Director at Loop Capital Markets LLC, one of the nation’s largest privately-held investment banking and brokerage firms. Well respected in both the financial and philanthropic communities, Mr. Bourne was formerly an Executive Director at J.P. Morgan. In addition to serving on The DuSable’s Board, he is a Director of the Chicago Summer Business Institute, Director of the Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center and Past President of the National Association of Black County Officials Business Roundtable. Mr. Bourne also founded the Dora Bourne Scholarship Award Program at Hearst Elementary School in 2003, which annually awards the school’s top two graduates for academic excellence. He holds a B.A. in African American Studies and Economics from Northwestern University and an M.B.A in Finance from Washington University in St. Louis, where he was awarded the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management Fellowship.
